Introduction
ACC PlayHouse Joint Program
Shadow Play “Old Dog”
“Old Dog” is a story of the elderly dog Nureongi, who wanders the neighborhood in search of an old granny, its master. The events surrounding Nureongi’s adventure unfold across shadow plays, a table puppet theater, and acting in a rhythmic narrative full of fantastic imagery.
Children experience the diverse and attractive devices within the shadow play and, through them, experience a new world of shadows. The day when the old dog searches for its master, an old granny, presents a warm and heavy resonance of the love between pets and humans, and a life lived together.
Story
On a summer day, Nureongi, an old dog, wakes up in a courtyard in a country home. Its master, an old granny, is nowhere to be seen in the house, so Nureongi sets off searching for her. Kkamangi, a stray cat the granny used to feed every morning, sighs and decides to follow Nureongi.

Nureongi goes to the places the granny may be, such as the alleyways, sweet potato fields, the sea, and the village hall, but she is nowhere to be seen. The traces only show that the granny had gotten onto a shining car, which went on to a large road. Nureongi decides to follow the big road for the first time in search of the granny, and the party soon finds themselves pursued by a dog catcher. Can Nureongi and Kkamangi meet granny once again?
