The Magic Spring
A time to face the truth learned by many but forgotten by all!
An interdisciplinary production combining sand art, shadow play, and music!
The Magic Spring is an adaptation of a Tajikistan legend included in the ACC’s Asian picture books. It depicts a quest to find a mysterious magical spring. Plot
“Have you heard about a mystical spring of magic that heals all ailments?”
Bakhtobar is a blind boy with a heart of gold. After an unfortunate encounter with the procession of a greedy king, the boy meets a mysterious old man who restores the boy’s vision.
The greedy king puts Bakhtobar behind bars and begins to search for the old man and the Magic Spring.
However, the old man is nowhere to be found, and the king hears an unsettling rumor that Bakhtobar is in love with the king’s dear daughter.
Where can the magic spring be? Will the greedy king find it?
