About
The Song of Boyar tells the story of a Bangladeshi girl who meets a Rohingya girl at a refugee camp in her village, showing how friendship breaks the barriers between people of different cultures. This production asks the audience how we can co-exist with those of divergent backgrounds, and does so using a child’s point of view.

The various sounds and music created by daily objects serve as symbolic references to the meaning of the story.
Story
In this story, Lia, a Bangladeshi girl, becomes friends with a refugee girl named Kushi who comes to live in a refugee camp in her village. Influenced by the complex social context created by adults, Lia sees Kushi as an ‘intruder’ at first, but the two children become closer through playing games, taking interest in each other’s lives, and learning to how to live in each other’s presence.

The ACC selected five teams of creators and children’s theater experts who in 2018 created five original productions through numerous incubating projects and showcases.
ACC Children Playhouse will present each program twice in 2019, mostly at different times of the year.
