Marking the 100th anniversary of Children's Day in 2022
A performance to mark the 100th anniversary of the Declaration of Children’s Liberation
“To mark the 100th anniversary of Children’s Day, this dance drama reminds the audience of the life and philosophy of Bang Jeong-hwan (pen name Sopa) who led the establishment of Children’s Day in order to create a world where children are respected and considered as the light of the world!”
Dreams light up here and now and show a way to the future.
Gyeongseong in 1931.
A black carriage is approaching a man who has got one foot in the grave.
His past rushes in.
His name is Bang Jeong-hwan..
During the Japanese colonial era, he led the movement for children with the belief that the only hope to overcome the grim reality is children.

To help children dream for a bright future, he tells children’s stories all over the country and publishes
the children’s literary magazine <Eorini>.

The year 1922! The first year Children's Day is celebrated in Korea.

One day...
Bang Jeong-hwan passes away, leaving his will, "Please take good care of children."
On his way to another world...
Children turn the lights on to send him off.
