The members are professors of local schools and artists of Gwangju. They will support the project with their musical performance. This project is meaningful as it brings together the musicians of Gwangju regardless of their age and region.
The music tracks of composer/bassist Park Han-yul’s first album "Equality" and hard bop music of the 1950s arranged with a modern touch will be played with beautiful tunes and exciting beats to fill the evening with joy. "Behind You" and "Memories of May" are pieces written to commemorate the leaders of the May 18 Democratic Movement that will be played for the first time in the ACC, the symbol of Gwangju.

His first album "Sounding Point" and "Mount Royal" produced with Chris Eldridge were nominated for Grammys in the "Best Contemporary Jazz Album" category. Lage later signed with Blue Note Records and released "Squint" and "View with a Room." In particular, he showcases his unique sound by presenting guitar tones and phrasing influenced not only by bebop and contemporary jazz, but also blues, country, and avant-garde/free jazz.
The Julian Lage Trio has been formed with Jorge Roeder, one of the most important partners of Lage and the irreplaceable bassist in the New York jazz scene, and the drummer and member of the group The Bad Plus, Dave King. The band has been performing together since the album "Love Hurts" released in 2019, capturing the hearts of the audience with the broad musical spectrum it features.
Lage has been pursuing positive and bright music as his top priority since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Let us enjoy this opportunity to listen to positive and warm music presented by the Julian Lage Trio.
