Introduction
G.J.Unity
Park Han-yul (bass), Park Gyeong-mo (trumpet), Lee Sam-su (alto saxophone), Kim Ki-beom (tenor saxophone), Kim Yohan (piano), Shin Ji-yong (drums)
G.J.Unity (Groove Jazz Unity) is a jazz group that aims to deliver post–straight ahead jazz, transforming traditional jazz into a contemporary one. With sophisticated and premium music and artistic delivery, the group offers balanced and public-friendly performances.
Bassist and songwriter Park Han-yul brought young and active Korean jazz musicians together to support this project. It is even more meaningful in the sense that musicians from Gwangju and many other regions share their ideas and unify their works.
To be performed are music in “Equality,” the first album of Park Han-yul and other hard-bob–style 50s jazz music rearranged to a more contemporary aura, delivering a beautiful day in May to the audience with lovely melody, chords, and vibrant rhythms.
Kimoki Saturnballad
Kimoki (saxophone), Jin Su-yeong (piano), Jeong Su-min (bass)
Kimoki Saturnballad got its name from imagining a ballad played by people who live on Saturn.
In the team are Kimoki, dubbed the most “problematic” jazz musician of the age and the winner of the Best Jazz & Crossover Music in 2014 Korean Music Awards, Jin Su-yeong the songwriter, arranger, and jazz pianist, and Jeong Su-min, the one who feels the pain of disappearing.
Active in their own area of music, transcending genres, they invoke joy and rage, sadness and love, desire, happiness, hatred, and unspeakable and complex human emotions through music, and immerse themselves in their works to unveil the depth of human emotions.
Yun Seok Cheol Trio and Lee Jin-ah
Yun Seok Cheol Trio
Yun Seok-cheol (piano), Jung Sang-yee (bass), Kim Young-jin (drums)
Yun Seok Cheol Trio is an iconic jazz trio that debuted with “Growth,” their first original album in 2009. Since then, they have been actively releasing new albums such as “Love Is A Song,” “Merrily Music,” “Free Rhythm,” and more.
The team is a favorite of jazz lovers thanks to their vivid grooves, smooth sentiments, and organic and experimental movements. In the previous year, they presented a new type of music that combines jazz with gugak (traditional Korean music) in their EP “Familiar and Constant.” They also collaborated with numerous artists in the pop music scene such as Zion.T, Kwon Jin-ah, Sam Kim, Baek Ye-rin, Paul Kim, and more.
Lee Jin-ah (vocal/piano)
Lee Jin-ah is a sophisticated musician who blend fresh and modern melodies with a touch of sentiments. She is a jazz-based singer-songwriter who jumps between various genres of music, including pop, R&B, ballad, and even EDM. In June 2016, Lee debuted with the single “Appetizer,” harmonizing delicate piano and intense jazz melody. Later, in 2017, she released “Random,” an EP that introduces her unique musical grammar. The title song, Random, presents an ever-changing aspect, while seven other unique pop-jazz tracks also offer musical entertainment.
Later, she solidified her position as the “Musician Praised by Musicians” with her original album “Jinah Restaurant Full Course,” further receiving love and support of artists and the public with her songs about honesty and hope in her 2020 single Dangerous Dream and the EP “Candy Pianist.”
Lee Jin-ah’s bold way of producing music shows an expanded music spectrum. In 2022, she released three songs: Rhythm of Hope (Prod. DPR CREAM), Rum Pum Pum, and Choco (Prod. DPR CREAM / feat. SOLE), blending hip-hop, jazz, and R&B, exhibiting her musical prowess. In addition, she continues to produce music in diverse genre with Want to Go Home Together for Dentiste, Musical Travels’ theme song composition, songwriting, and arranging for the Korea Tourism Organization, singing and composition of the OST of the game “Blue Archive” by Nexon.

In September 13, 2023, she released “Hearts of the City,” her third album five years after the second one. With a kinder heart and warm gaze on the city life, her song consoles people’s hearts. She did not only participate in composition, songwriting, and arranging of all 12 tracks including the two title songs but also performed as the chief producer to make a complete album. Enjoy the album and witness the sophisticated and delicate world of Lee Jin-ah’s music.
