Announcement: 2024 Donations for the Asia Culture Museum
The Asia Culture Center (ACC) is committed to exploring and promoting cultural diversity in Asia. We are pleased to announce that we are accepting collections as donations to the Asia Culture Museum.
We would be especially grateful for the interest and participation of collectors.

January 2024

1. Items for donations: Tangible items (artifacts, etc.) of high cultural value and utility for the study and exhibit of Asian culture.

  • A. Asian traditional culture (daily life, festivals, rituals, celebrations, and games).
  • B. Asian traditional attire (clothing, footwear, headgear, etc.).
  • C. Asian culinary culture (utensils, cooking equipment, etc.).
  • D. Asian traditional music (instruments, audiovisual materials, music recordings, etc.).
  • E. Asian performances (dance, puppetry, mask theater, videos, etc.).
  • F. Asian crafts (leatherwork, woodworking, pottery, traditional tiles, sculptures, etc.).
  • G. Asian religions (folk beliefs, Hinduism, Buddhism, scriptures, religious texts, etc.).
  • H. Asian myths and legends (books, posters, postcards, videos, photos, etc.).
  • I. Asian urban culture (promotional videos, mosque/shrine models, panoramic photos, etc.).
  • J. Asian architecture (UNESCO World Heritage visual materials, photos, books, etc.).
  • K. World Heritage Convention, Intangible Cultural Heritage, Memory of the World(physical materials, audiovisuals, photos, books, etc.).

2. When to donate: Ongoing throughout the year

3. How to donate : By post or email

  • After sending your donations via post or e-mail, please double-check with the donation manager to confirm the submission of your donation(s).

4. Documents required : Donation application (Annex 1) and a photocopied image of the donated artifacts or items

5. Donation process

  • The donor lodges an intention to donate
  • ACC informs donor of the procedural steps and reviews the items intended for donation
  •         ACC accepts the donation(s)
  • Gift-Receipt Deliberation Committee meeting
  • ACC issues a certificate of donation to the donor
  • ACC registers and utilizes the donated items received (for exhibition or content development)

6. Intended use of donated items

  • All donated items will be registered as part of the Asia Culture Museum’s permanent collections.
  • The donated artifacts and materials will be used in exhibitions, and for research and education, based on the quantity and merits of the items.

7. Restricted donations

  • Donations may be rejected if there are reasonable grounds for doubt over the ownership, source, or background of the items.
  • Donations may be rejected if the Asia Culture Museum determines they fall short of requirements, or are of insufficient merit for exhibition, education, or research purposes.
